Construction Training available to our members
Increase the capabilities of your workforce with our range of training courses, from a half day Asbestos Awareness course to the 5 day SMSTS course. All our courses are subsidised to members, typically 40% of providers list prices. Over the last seven years we have provided over £250K of subsidised training to our members. We arrange training through our approved network of providers based in the East Midlands.
Our objective is to spend £40K providing 400 days of training for our members in 2019.
You must meet the following criteria to qualify for subsidised training:
- Be registered as a levy payer with CITB.
- Be a member of Action For Construction. (You must have paid your annual membership fee for the current year.)
- You must submit your quarterly training return. (E.g. to qualify for training in July to September 2019, you must have submitted the quarterly return for June 2019)
- All of your prior ‘employer contributions’ invoices must have been paid.
For 2019 members will be asked to contribute 40% of the list price of the course.
Should nominated individuals not attend the course or not give sufficient notice of nonattendance (normally 7 days), their employer will be charged the full cost of the course.
Members may have up to £5,000 of subsidised training at list prices p.a.
Should you have additional requirements, please contact the Group Training Officer to discuss
As we aim to boost your business, we recycle the ‘employer contributions’ and membership fees. This provides additional funding, which result in free/subsidised training for members.
Over the last few years we have delivered over 2,000 days of subsidised training to our members worth over £250K, ranging from half day Asbestos Awareness to 5 day SMSTS courses.
Most of the money for this training is funded by CITB, which we bid for annually.
We utilise the members training contributions and our annual membership fee income to subsidise training that CITB does not fund e.g. First Aid.
This enables us to allocate £10K per quarter for training
