Construction Training available to our members
Increase the capabilities of your workforce with our range of training courses, from a half day Asbestos Awareness course to the 5 day SMSTS course. All our courses are subsidised to members, typically 40% of providers list prices. Over the last seven years we have provided over £200K of subsidised training to our members. We arrange training through our approved network of providers based in the East Midlands.
Our objective is to spend £40K providing 400 days of training for our members in 2019.
You must meet the following criteria to qualify for subsidised training:
- Be registered as a levy payer with CITB.
- Be a member of Action For Construction. (You must have paid your annual membership fee for the current year.)
- You must submit your quarterly training return. (E.g. to qualify for training in January–March 2018, you must have submitted the quarterly return for December 2017.)
- All of your prior ‘employer contributions’ invoices must have been paid.
For 2018 members will be asked to contribute 40% of the list price of the course.
Should nominated individuals not attend the course or not give sufficient notice of nonattendance (normally 7 days), their employer will be charged the full cost of the course.
In the Maximum limits section please change “Free/subsidised training” to subsidised training.
CITB have set maximum limits on the cost of the training that you could receive in one year. These include:
- Employer – £2,500
- Employee – £1,000
As we aim to boost your business, we recycle the ‘employer contributions’ and membership fees. This provides additional funding, which result in free/subsidised training for members.
Members undertook 370 days of training worth over £43K during 2017. This was funded by a £25,000 grant from the CITB, Membership fees and recycled member contributions.
We are aiming to provide over 400 days of training in 2018.
PLEASE NOTE: A sum of £10,000 has been allocated for the period of January to March 2018 for members who have completed their Quarter 4 2017 training returns.
